It was your average day in Seaside Heights. The sun was shining brighter than the stars on beautiful night; the beach waves were rough taking out anyone who entered the beast. Everyone else was having a great time either at the water park, the boardwalk or the carnival! It was my best friends birthday and we were all psyched to go on the water slides that we were almost arriving at. Once we were there, all I could see was my version of heaven. I could hear all the little kids screaming with laughter. I looked up at the bold sign above us: Welcome to Seaside Heights!
My two other friends Danny and Eddie that came were
going nuts about all the water slides while we were waiting in line. Just looking at all the slides over the fences surrounding me had amazed me and couldn’t wait to enter. The young woman with blond hair gave us a wristband before we got in. Before I knew it, I was inside the water park with a bigger smile than anyone on the planet. The group started to suit up into their bathing suits and we also decided to walk around and see what our first destination would be.
Finally after going on a good amount of crazy swirly, stomach dropping slides we made it to the other side of the water park and we saw a short line at those a humongous water slide. Waiting patiently, we were finally at the top with a huge tube that held my friends and I, with our arms were about to fall off. We all looked down at all the puny young and old people walking around at the water park. We decided to split up since there were four of us and the tubes can only hold two. I went with the birthday boy Shane to kick off the fun and I could tell
from his facial expression, that he was definitely ready. The red light turned green and that was when Shane and I knew, it was time to go. We dropped down, feeling the water jumping into our face, as we were taking tight turns while slowly going down to the core of the ride. I was yelling in excitement and I’m pretty sure Shane was too. We arrived to the mini pool with the lifeguard watching every movement we make. We met are two other friends to tell each other are experience down the slide.
“ Guys that was so fun! But I bet I have an idea to make it better.” Eddie grinned
“Oh really? Tell us!” Danny bloated
“ Alright, alright here’s what were going to do: Remember that tunnel you would go through during the slide?”
“Yeah”
“ Well when were in that tunnel, we should flip the tube and will go flying off! It may hurt but it would be totally worth it.” Eddie smirked
“I’m down for that.” I finally spoke
“ Yeah me too!” Shane jumped
It was official; it’s time to take this slide up a notch.
We took the tubes again and sprinted up the stairs with are bare wet feet. I could already see it now, my friend and me would flip in the tunnel and we would laugh and struggle trying to get back up.
Back at the top again, we grabbed a different partner and I was with the energetic one of the group: Eddie. I was okay with that though I love having fun with him and I could tell he had a
trick up his sleeve (even though he doesn’t have a shirt on.) The green light blinked on and Eddie and me were set. We pushed ourselves down and we got ready to flip. I looked forward and saw the tunnel. We started to push the tube left and right until it was too late and we both fell off the tube. I laughed so hard I couldn’t make any noise! Trying to contain my breath the two of us went on our stomachs like penguins and chased the empty tube still going down the slide! We were so into it, I haven’t had this much fun in a while! We slide to the surface and swam to catch up to the tube slowly gliding to the exit of the pool. Once again we met up and we all had the same idea thankfully. We kept switching partners and kept falling off the tubes and having the time of our lives! Words can’t describe how amazing this place has been treating us.
The orange sun was sinking into the ocean, the crowd started to disappear slowly, and all attendants and workers started to close down the water slides. The group of us looked at
each other and knew the fun was about to end. We walked to our clothes and started to change. We delivered Shane our cards for his birthday and we made an attempt of giving him birthday punches but he didn’t let us. Shane’s mother escorted us back to her car to take us back to Scotch Plains. The ride back home was long as if my mom shopping. But talking about how much fun we had, made the ride nice and short. The sun was nowhere to be found, I was the last person to get dropped back home, I glanced at my house then gave my man a fist pump before I started to take the long walk to my front door. Watching the car driving away and seeing Shane smiling through the window made me think: “Man what a day!”
